We Made It!

We made it! We are all checked in to the hotel and even ventured down the street to buy some water and beer and seaweed crackers. (They are pretty good) And because of the money conversion, we spent like $200 NT, which isn't that much US, but it sure seems crazy, doesn't it!?

The flight(s) were long. 13 hours from Detroit to Osaka and we were sooooooooo tired of sitting in the airplane seats!!

My seat on the 747 didn't recline - go figure. About an hour into the flight, we ended up taking the seat cushion off and reattaching the little cable that makes it recline. Thank goodness. It was uncomfortable enough with a 2 inch recline!

The driver that picked us up at the airport was very nice, and didn't know a word of English, so it was kind of a quiet drive to the hotel. It is Midnight Sunday night here now and we're going to get some sleep. This is a picture of the door to our room (the green one on the left). The door right next to it is the door to the breakfast room/restaurant. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. We'll give it a couple days and let you know! =)

Oh yeah, we did have one small problem - our carryon luggage starting losing a wheel in Detroit, so we went from store to store in the airport trying to find an affordable placement. Since we didn't feel it was neccessary to pay $275 for a TUMI all leather carry on, we ended up finding one at the PGA store!

More tomorrow - hope everyone in the States has a great Sunday!

Just got home from Church and lunch at Burger King. There were the nine of us, and Jean Hirsch and DJ joined us. Looks like you are having an eventful trip.

Things are going well here. Janet's sister, Cathy, came by for a couple hours last night to see if we needed help.

Jared is watching me type this and correcting my spelling errors.

It is warm here and Tracy is talking about going to the pool. Our schedule shows that we take the kids and the van to Jen's this afternoon at 4:00. Not much else to add so will sign off. The kids have been pretty good.

Sounds like an exciting trip! That sounds like an awful lot to pay for beer! I hope it was good! It's good to know you guys got there safe and sound. The kids here are doing well. Just the usual..fighting over movies, Shelby covered herself in chalk, and of course Jared and Tristen are immersed in guitar hero...but they are having fun. Can't wait to hear more from you. Jen
